The island is well served by a variety of general stores and eating-out venues. Most are within reasonable distance of An t-Seann Dachaidh and recommended for their quality goods and services. As you travel south into South Uist there are many more shops, hotels and restaurants, details of which are posted on the kitchen walls in the cottage.

MacLennan Supermarket Review

We missed the Co-op on Skye as we were running late for the ferry so we followed your recommendation of MacLennan’s Supermarket from your website and, boy were we amazed! Beautiful, clean shop with such an array of butchery, delicatessen and everything we could wish for. The day before we left we stocked up the van and took home to Surrey all our favourites from this amazing shop. Please, pass on to the owners how very impressed we were.
